The Ponds

The Ponds in Monroe is a gated Active Adult Retirement Community. Located near Exit 8A of the New Jersey Turnpike, it's close to major transportation routes.

The Ponds was built between 1994 and 1999. Included in the grounds is a 19 acre nature preserve. This peaceful setting also provides walking trails and exercise stations. Homes are detached or semi-attached ranch style homes with between 1,600 and 2,500 sq ft., 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a 1 or 2 car garage. Ten different home styles are available. There are almost 600 homes in The Ponds.

There is a 20,000 sq ft clubhouse offering indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, tennis, bocce, a putting green and more. Nursing services are available 24 hours per day.

To live in The Ponds, one resident must be at least 55 years old, additional residents must be at least 48 years old. One pet (under 35 lbs) is permitted.

A bus stop is located at the community to provide transportation via New Jersey transit and Academy Bus lines.

The Monroe Township Transportation Division provides transportation services to  locations in town such as Concordia Shopping Center and Apple Plaza. There are also two shuttle routes that stop at specific shopping locations and medical facilities in East Windsor, Princeton and Freehold. The Transportation Division also runs senior trips to museums, theatre etc. More information is available in the Senior Focus newsletter or by visiting www.Monroetwp.com
